Renovated in 2007, this hotel is ideal for guests looking for luxurious accommodation in peaceful, attractive surroundings with a wide range of amenities. The resort offers 52 accommodation units with lush landscaped patios and beautiful views, including both pool and garden views. It is a tropical village-style resort, landscaped with waterfalls, a pool, hot tubs and many on-site features such as a barbecue, talking parrots and a free minibus service to the beach and supermarket. The tour companies pick guests up and drop them off and there is an on-site booking service available. Further facilities include an entrance hall with 24-hour check-out service, hotel safe, dining room, as well as a free Internet/email service and an inexpensive VOIP LD telephone system. There is also a children's playground. The hotel features a selection of piped music throughout the resort.
Location
The hotel is located some 6 km from the Cruise Ship Harbour, in the beautiful resort of Bahamia. As soon as current renovations are completed, the hotel will be within walking distance of restaurants, nightclubs, pubs, a casino etc. It is approximately 6 km to Grand Bahama International Airport (FPO).
How to get there
Taking a taxi is the best way to get to the resort - guests should simply give the driver the name of the hotel (no address is needed), as it is just 6 km from the airport and the Cruise Ship Harbour. If driving from the airport, take the Mall South past 3 roundabouts. The last roundabout is Ranfurly Circus. Continue south and turn right onto Pinta Ave for around 100 m, then right again onto Rum Cay Drive and the hotel is about 500 metres ahead on the right-hand side.
Room description
There are 4 styles of suites, all with fully equipped kitchens, en suite bathrooms, dining areas, living rooms and bedrooms. They come with cable TV, radio, ceiling fans and air conditioning. The kitchen provides a fridge, oven, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities, washing machine and an iron and ironing board. The air conditioning is individually adjustable.
Sports and entertainment
The hotel hosts happy hours, as well as speciality Bahamian snacks and dinners with organised entertainment. There is a range of leisure options in the hotel, including a heated outdoor swimming pool, sun loungers, Jacuzzi, massage treatments, tennis, beach volleyball, horseshoes and shuffleboard. There are tour companies operating locally that offer all kinds of sports on land and water, including swimming with dolphins, deep sea fishing, booze cruises and more. There is also a golf course close by.
