Built in 1927 and refurbished in 2007, this family-friendly beach hotel has been transformed into one of the most opulent designer hotels on the UK's south coast and resembles one of Miami's great Ocean Drive Art Deco hotels. The decadent splendour of the 1930's combined with today's urban chic has been carefully woven into this hotel that overlooks golden sandy beaches. This charming establishment is ideal for business travellers and holidaymakers alike. It comprises a total of 106 rooms, and facilities on offer to guests include a lobby area with a 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a cloakroom, lift access, a bar, a restaurant and conference facilities. For an additional fee, guests may also take advantage of the Internet access and room and laundry services. There is parking available for those arriving by car.
Location
Situated on the south coast of England with extensive road, rail and air links and one of the UK's warmest climates, this town truly is a dream location. The hotel is right in the heart of it all, set on the East Cliff of Bournemouth and offering magnificent views. The town centre is a 10-minute walk away, where guests will find bars, clubs, public transport, shops and the beach. Bournemouth Airport is 10 km away, and it is 149 km to Heathrow Airport.
How to get there
The hotel can be found by following the signs to Southampton from the M3 and continuing west on the M27. From the M3/M27 follow the signs for Bournemouth and the A338. From the A338 St Paul's roundabout, take Holdenhurst Road, and then take the 2nd exit off the Lansdowne roundabout onto Meyrick Road. Go straight over the roundabout, and take the 2nd left onto East Overcliff Drive. The hotel is on the right hand side.
Room description
With its unique location, many of the traditional yet modern rooms offer sea views and balconies that overlook the lido deck and swimming pool. All rooms have a TV, hairdryer and hot drinks refreshment tray. The rooms all come with a private en suite bathroom with a shower/bathtub as well as a direct dial telephone, a radio, Internet access, an ironing set, a double bed, heating and a safe.
