Constructed in 1850 and renovated in 2006, this stylish spa hotel is decorated in natural woods, leather, and fresh contemporary colours, which runs throughout the building to include the rooms, the restaurant, and the reception. The air-conditioned establishment with a terrace comprises a total of 106 modern rooms, and facilities on offer include a lobby area with a reception desk manned around the clock, a hotel safe and lifts as well conference facilities, a public Internet connection (charges apply), room and laundry services (charges apply), bicycle hire, and parking for those arriving by car. Location
This hotel occupies a unique location, offering guests views over the beautiful St Brelade's Bay, the glorious coastline, the sandy beach, and the rolling surf. The centre of St Helier, with its bars, nightclubs, and shopping amenities, can be reached in approximately 15 minutes by car. There is also a stop for public transport just 2 minutes away, and it is around 4 km to Jersey airport.
How to get there
Jersey is only some 45 minutes by aeroplane from Heathrow and Gatwick airports, and the hotel is also a mere 3.2 km from the airport. A taxi or the complimentary shuttle service transports guests in about 5 minutes to the hotel. For those arriving by sea: the ferry from Saint Malo takes around 45 minutes, while the ferry from Weymouth takes four hours. From the harbour, a taxi or the shuttle service take approximately 10 minutes to reach the hotel.
Room description
The elegant rooms, of which 65 enjoy sea views, have a light feel to them, thanks to the use of natural materials such as stone, leather, limestone, pale wood and silk. The redesigned bedrooms come with a 42\"\" plasma TV (with satellite TV), MP3 docking stations (in more than half of all rooms), a W-LAN access point, and a direct dial telephone. Also provided as standard in every room is an en suite bathroom with bathrobes and hairdryer, a minibar/ fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, an iron and ironing board, a trouser press, a double bed, individually adjustable air conditioning (in more than half of all rooms), central heating, and a hire safe.
