The hotel is best described as a large house, privately owned, offering great character and an informal atmosphere for both adults and children. It is the kind of place where on a summer's afternoon or evening guests can take tea in the drawing room or enjoy a cool drink on the terrace and admire the light Highland evening shadows lengthening across the slopes of Glen Urquhart. In the winter the scene changes to being cold and wintry outside yet warm and cosy inside where guests can unwind in front of the lovely log fire. Sip a fine malt Whisky before and after enjoying a delicious 4-course dinner. Children are able to enjoy their own \"\"kids tea\"\" and parents can relax at dinner in the knowledge that their children are sleeping or being watched over by the childminder. The hotel offers space and tranquillity - a place where guests can completely relax. The complex features 14 rooms with a lobby, a 24-hour reception, a hire safe, a cloakroom, a café, a hairdresser, a games room and public Internet access. Guests are also offered a bar and a restaurant as well as a room and laundry service. Further facilities include a bicycle rental, games room, a playground where younger guests may let off steam, and parking.
Location
This hotel is located in the centre of an 8 hectare park and wood in the centre of Glen Urquart - a wonderful wooded valley in the heart of the Scottish highlands. The hotel is located by the A831, around 25 minutes drive from Inverness, around 5 km from Drumnadrochit and 7 km from the shores of Loch Ness. The airport is just 45 minutes from the hotel.
Room description
Each of the rooms are individually decorated and unique in its character. In addition, the rooms include a hairdryer, a TV, a direct dial telephone, a radio, a kettle with a choice of teas, a hire safe and a double or king-size bed. Additional beds and cots are available on request.
Sports and entertainment
There are sun loungers by the indoor pool and massages are available for an added fee along with further spa treatments. Guests are also offered tennis, badminton, basketball, billiards or golf. During the day children are able to let off steam and enjoy the rabbit park, play on the slides, table tennis and swim in the heated pool. In addition, they may run around the garden, bounce on the trampoline, ride bikes, fish in the pond and play around until they get tired.
