Location
This historic conference hotel enjoys a peaceful location, in Whitwell, close to the shores of Rutland Water in Rutland, Britain's smallest county. Rutland Water covers 3100 acres and has 25 miles of shoreline. Restaurants can be found in the immediate vicinity. Whitwell is also just a short drive away from the historic market towns of Stamford and Oakham. The nearest nightlife is in Stamford, The nearest mainline rail station is Peterborough, about twenty five minutes by taxi from Whitwell. There is a local station at Oakham, ten minutes away by taxi. East Midlands Airport is some 74 km away, while West Midlands Airport is some 93 km away.
How to get there
By car: From the North and Grantham follow the A1 south and take the A606 (signposted Rutland Water) to Whitwell. From Leicester take the A47 east, followed by the A6003 to Oakham, and the A606 to Whitwell. From Peterborough and Huntingdon follow the A1 north and take the A606 (signposted Rutland Water) to Whitwell.
