3D Secure credit card authorisation |

As you may well have noticed by the updated credit card graphic on our homepage, we have adopted the new 3D Secure credit card authorisation technique developed by Visa and MasterCard. 3D Secure uses a more secure method for authenticating your credit card at the time your booking is placed. The scheme is set up as an online equivalent to Chip and PIN (that you may have already come across), and requires you to enter a password at your card issuer’s site, before the transaction process can be completed.
Using Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode
In order to complete a 3D Secure transaction, you will need to register for either Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode with your issuing bank, if you have not already done so. When you place your booking on our website, you will be asked to register your card before continuing with the transaction. The transaction process is as follows:
- You complete your order adding your accommodation etc. to your shopping basket as usual.
- At the booking confirmation stage, if you decide to pay by Visa, Visa Delta and Visa Debit, Maestro or MasterCard, you will be redirected to your issuing bank where you will need to enter your password (or if you have not yet setup the service, you can register at this time).
- The bank will verify the password your enter and the transaction will continue as normal.
